Award Amount: Varies

  • Scholarship amounts and number of awards vary by cycle.

Information And Eligibility:
The PALH Scholarship is offered by the Physician Associates for Latino Health, a professional caucus of the American Academy of PAs dedicated to improving health outcomes in Latino communities. This scholarship program supports currently enrolled Physician Assistant students who demonstrate leadership, service, and a genuine commitment to Latino health issues. While applicants do not need to be of Latino descent, they must show clear interest in serving Latino populations and addressing health disparities.

The scholarship cycle opens annually and is designed to be an accessible opportunity for PA students in good academic standing who are preparing for careers focused on community health, advocacy, and culturally responsive care. PALH places strong emphasis on service, leadership, and long-term engagement with the organization, viewing the scholarship as both financial assistance and an investment in future PA leaders.

Scholarship recipients are expected to remain actively involved with PALH beyond the award year. All winners must maintain active Student or Fellow membership for a minimum of two years and commit to serving in a PALH committee or board position for at least one year. Recipients are also added to the PALH student alliance group, reinforcing mentorship, collaboration, and professional development within the organization.
