Award Amount:

Information and Eligibility:
The PIMCO Future Leaders Scholarship, established in 2021, aims to support students from underrepresented communities who are interested in investment management and aspire to pursue careers in finance through continued education. The scholarship is open to current undergraduate sophomores, as well as current or incoming (Fall 2025) master’s and doctoral students.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Pell Grant/Financial Aid Eligibility:
    • Undergraduate students must be Pell Grant eligible.
    • Graduate students must be eligible for federal financial aid and/or have been Pell Grant eligible during undergraduate studies.
  • First-Generation College Student: Applicants who are the first in their family to attend college.
  • Self-Identification: Applicants who self-identify as Black, African, or African American; American Indian or Alaska Native; Hispanic or Latino; Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander.
  • Institutional Affiliation: Applicants attending an accredited Historically Black College or University (HBCU) or Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).

Academic Qualifications:

  • Maintain good academic standing as of the application deadline.
  • Pursuing a relevant degree or career in financial services or an adjacent industry.

Specific Criteria:

  • Undergraduate Students: Enrolled as a sophomore in an accredited U.S. college or university. Proof of admittance and intention will be required.
  • Graduate Students: Master’s or doctoral students enrolled in a U.S. institution. Proof of admittance and intention will be required.

Application Requirements:

  • Complete the online application form available on the PIMCO Future Leaders Scholarship page.
  • Submit proof of enrollment and academic standing.
  • Provide documentation supporting eligibility criteria (e.g., Pell Grant eligibility, first-generation status, self-identification, or institutional affiliation).
  • Include a personal statement outlining interest in investment management and career aspirations.
  • Submit a current resume highlighting academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and relevant experience.

Application Timeline:

  • Applications Open: December 2
  • Application Deadline: February 10
  • Interviews: Conducted in late April or early May
  • Virtual Summit: Recipients will be invited to attend a celebratory virtual event in May 2025.
