Name: The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation
Award Amount: Varies
Information And Eligibility:
The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) is one of the largest and longest-standing scholarship organizations dedicated to supporting education in the graphic communications industry. As a nonprofit, industry-driven foundation, PGSF partners with printing companies, suppliers, educators, and graphic communications professionals to strengthen the future workforce of the print, publishing, packaging, and graphics sectors. Each year, PGSF awards more than 200 scholarships to deserving students across the United States, providing both undergraduate scholarships and graduate-level fellowship assistance.
PGSF scholarships are designed for students who demonstrate a strong interest in the graphic communications field—including areas such as digital printing, commercial printing, packaging technology, graphic design, publishing, production management, print engineering, and related disciplines. Eligible applicants must be high school seniors planning to enroll in a two- or four-year college program, high school graduates who have not yet started college, or current college students pursuing a major related to graphic communications. All applicants must attend school full-time to qualify, ensuring they remain focused on completing a structured academic program that prepares them for industry careers.
Selection for PGSF scholarships is competitive and based on multiple factors. The scholarship committee consists of educators, graphic communication specialists, and industry leaders who review each application holistically. They consider academic performance, letters of recommendation, extracurricular involvement, leadership experience, personal achievements, and demonstrated passion for the field. Many applicants also submit portfolios, project samples, or graphic communication work that helps support their commitment to the industry.
PGSF scholarships are renewable, making them particularly valuable for students who plan to pursue multi-year degrees. To maintain eligibility, recipients must continue full-time enrollment at the institution where they originally matriculated, major in a graphic communications–related discipline, and uphold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students who fail to meet these standards may have their scholarship funds reduced or withdrawn.
Beyond financial assistance, PGSF fosters a community of future professionals by offering mentorship opportunities, promoting industry internships, and connecting students with potential employers. The Foundation’s broader mission is to ensure a well-educated workforce for print and graphics companies nationwide, and its scholarship program is a central pillar of that effort.
