Information and Eligibility:
The QuestBridge National College Match is an extraordinary scholarship program that connects high-achieving, low-income students with full four-year scholarships to top colleges and universities in the U.S. This program is designed for students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and financial need. The scholarship provides comprehensive coverage for tuition, room and board, and other fees, giving students the opportunity to attend some of the most prestigious colleges in the country.

Eligible candidates must be high school seniors who come from families with an annual income below a certain threshold (usually under $65,000), be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and show strong academic records. Applicants are required to submit an application that includes standardized test scores (if applicable), essays, recommendations, and financial documentation. The QuestBridge National College Match aims to increase access to higher education for students who have demonstrated resilience and success despite financial challenges.
Eligibility criteria include:

  • Academic Achievement: Applicants must have excellent grades (earning mostly A’s in the most challenging courses) and demonstrate intellectual curiosity and strong writing skills.
  • Financial Need: Household income must typically be under ~$65,000 annually (for a family of four) with minimal assets.
  • Enrollment Status: Applicants must be U.S. high school seniors (citizens or permanent residents) planning to enroll full-time in college the following fall.

Application Requirements:

  • Completed QuestBridge National College Match application (free).
  • Transcripts, letters of recommendation (two teacher recs and a school/counselor report), financial information and essays describing background, challenges, goals and college list.
  • Rank up to 15 QuestBridge college partner institutions.

Selection Criteria:

  • Combination of academic excellence, financial need, personal character, leadership potential and fit for highly selective college partners.
  • Strength of essays and applicant story, including the context of achievement and future potential.

Additional Details:

  • Applicants who become Finalists are eligible to be “matched” with one of the partner colleges and receive a binding admission + full scholarship.
  • Even if not matched, Finalists and non-Finalists may still apply to partner colleges through QuestBridge Regular Decision and are eligible for fee waivers and other supports.
  • Partner colleges number over 55 and include many of the top U.S. universities.
