Name: Rolex Scholarships
Award Amount: Varies (typically includes funding for international travel, training, and educational experiences)
Information And Eligibility:
The Rolex Scholarships, administered by the Our World-Underwater Scholarship Society (OWUSS), are prestigious international awards designed for students who are passionate about underwater exploration, marine science, and ocean conservation. The program provides a unique opportunity for emerging leaders in marine research and exploration to gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and global exposure within the underwater sciences community.
Each year, a small number of scholars are selected to participate in a year-long educational experience that includes travel to various locations around the world, working with marine researchers, conservationists, and industry professionals. Scholars gain practical experience in marine biology, underwater photography, ocean conservation initiatives, diving operations, and other ocean-related fields.
The program emphasizes professional development and leadership within marine science and underwater exploration. Scholars often participate in research expeditions, conservation projects, and educational programs designed to expand their knowledge of marine ecosystems and underwater technologies. Through these experiences, recipients build professional networks and develop the skills needed to pursue careers in marine science, environmental conservation, ocean engineering, and related disciplines.
