The S&R Foundation’s Kuno Award for Applied Science for the Social Good is designed to support early to mid-career women using scientific research to address 21st-century social challenges. The grant funds projects that aim to translate scientific research into practical solutions that create measurable social impact. The award is open to women visionaries with expertise in the specific area their project addresses, whether it’s developing a new model for education, creating a tool for the field, or other innovative ventures.

Applicants must have a PhD and/or MD in a relevant field, be associated with a university or other educational institution, and lead a project in its early phases (no more than two years in progress). The project should have the potential for scalable social impact and align with the Foundation’s focus on social good.
