The Samsung American Legion Scholarship is an excellent opportunity for high school students who are direct descendants of veterans who served during the Korean War. In partnership with The American Legion, Samsung has committed to awarding $300,000 in scholarships each year to nearly 100 students who participate in Boys State and Girls State programs. This scholarship program honors the service and sacrifices of Korean War veterans.
Eligible students must be the direct descendants (children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren) of a veteran who served during the Korean War and is eligible for membership in The American Legion. Scholarships may be used for undergraduate study at an accredited institution and can cover tuition, books, fees, and room and board. Applicants are evaluated based on their academic performance, involvement in school and community activities, community service, and financial need. Special consideration is given to those applicants who are descendants of Korean War veterans.
