Information And Eligibility: The Samuel Huntington Public Service Scholarship Award provides a stipend for one (or two if funds permit) selected college senior to pursue a one year of public service project anywhere in the world. The full scholarship award amount is for $10,000, with $5,000 awarded at the beginning of the project and $5,000 awarded upon the students six month progress report. This award is meant to carry on Samuel Huntington’s legacy by allowing its recipients to participate in a meaningful public service activity/project for one year before proceeding on to graduate school or a career. To be eligible for this scholarship award applicants must be a graduating college senior from an accredited U.S. college or university. Applicants are asked to develop a proposal for public service in the U.S. or abroad, that can encompass any activity that furthers the public good (by yourself or by working through an established charitable, religious, educational, governmental, or other public service organization). In addition to the Samuel Huntington Public Service application, students must submit their budget for the project, three letters of recommendation, their official academic transcript, and resume. Winners will be selected based on the quality of their proposal, academic record, and other personal achievements.
