The Seventeen Magazine Pretty Amazing Scholarship is a high-profile scholarship contest created to celebrate young women who are making an impact in their communities, demonstrating exceptional talent, and inspiring others through their passions and achievements. Sponsored by Neutrogena, this scholarship not only awards a generous $10,000 college scholarship, but also offers the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to appear on the cover of *Seventeen* magazine—an iconic platform that has highlighted influential young women for decades.
The scholarship is open exclusively to girls ages 15–22 who are U.S. citizens or legal residents. Unlike traditional scholarship programs that emphasize GPA, test scores, or financial need, the Pretty Amazing Scholarship focuses on personal stories, accomplishments, and individuality. Applicants are asked to submit a short essay (1,000 characters or less) answering the question: “What makes you pretty amazing?” Judges look for authenticity, purpose, creativity, and a compelling personal narrative that illustrates why the applicant stands out.
All submissions are reviewed by Seventeen magazine editors, who select a group of semi-finalists based on achievement, personal growth, leadership, and the strength of the applicant’s story. From there, a group of finalists is chosen to receive an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City. Each finalist receives round-trip airfare for two, a four-night hotel stay, participation in an exclusive photo shoot, and a celebratory luncheon hosted by the editorial team.
One finalist will ultimately be chosen as the Grand Prize winner, receiving the $10,000 scholarship (awarded as a check from Neutrogena) and the opportunity to appear on a future Seventeen magazine cover—an unmatched honor that can open doors in media, entertainment, fashion, and future scholarship or career opportunities.
