The program encourages students to excel academically and contribute to South Dakota’s economy.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a South Dakota resident.
• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in high school.
• Score at least a 24 on the ACT (or SAT equivalent).
• Complete the required high school curriculum as defined by the South Dakota Board of Regents.
• Enroll full-time at an eligible South Dakota public or private college or university.
• Demonstrate intent to pursue a degree in a critical workforce area, if applicable.

Application Requirements:

• Submit a completed application through the South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship portal.
• Provide official high school transcripts and ACT or SAT scores.
• Submit proof of enrollment in an eligible postsecondary institution.
