The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship is a renewable award designed to assist students from New England who demonstrate financial need, academic achievement and strong character. This scholarship provides significant annual funding—generally ranging from $3,000 to $10,000 per year—to support undergraduate study. Awards may be renewed for up to four years as long as the recipient maintains a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and continues to demonstrate financial need.
The scholarship is open to high-school seniors entering college as well as returning undergraduate students. While students may attend any accredited college or university within the United States, eligibility is restricted to permanent residents of the New England states: Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. Preference is given to applicants from Salem, Massachusetts and several surrounding communities north of Boston, but all qualified candidates are considered.
