Information And Eligibility: Science and technology issues are highly important in United States policy and society. Topics such as energy security, climate change, and space policy are all issues of importance that will affect the lives of younger generations. The Student Pugwash Elections Scholarship is looking for qualified applicants to tell the next United States president and congress what science, technology, or energy issues are of most importance and why. Qualified applicants will have the choice of submitting one of the following: a YouTube Video or Flash Video (under 5 minutes), a Digital Audio Podcast (under 5 minutes), or a Written Essay (750-word limit) addressing one of the following topics: Climate change, Stem cells, Energy transitions, Nanotechnology, Neglected diseases, Nuclear weapons, or Space security. To enter the scholarship contest, applicants must complete the Registration Form and attach their submission at the sponsors website. All scholarship applicants must be United States citizens or legal residents, between the ages of 16 and 25, and must be enrolled part-time in an accredited high school or university at the time of submission. First place winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship for college, second place winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship for college, and third place winner will receive a $350 scholarship for college. There is no GPA requirement for this scholarship opportunity.
