Tennessee Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Scholarship

Name: Tennessee Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (TN PHCC) Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000 per recipient

Information And Eligibility:
The Tennessee Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (TN PHCC) Scholarship is an annual educational award established to honor and support students connected to the plumbing, heating, and cooling industry. Administered by the Tennessee Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors, Inc., the scholarship recognizes academically capable students who demonstrate promise and commitment to furthering their education. Since its inception, TN PHCC has awarded over $185,000 in scholarships to deserving students. Applicants must be sponsored by a member contractor and selected by a scholarship committee based on eligibility criteria and demonstrated academic standing. Applications for the current cycle are now being accepted, with a deadline of March 1.

The scholarship is aimed at students graduating from high school, current college students, or individuals enrolled in trade or technical programs. A core objective of the program is to encourage students toward fields of study that support the plumbing-heating-cooling industry, including engineering, business, trades training, and related technical disciplines. While the award amount varies by year and committee decisions, past award levels have historically been around $1,000 per student. Funding is provided directly to the recipient’s school at the beginning of the semester once enrollment is verified.

Preference is given to applicants who plan to pursue degrees in engineering, business, or programs specific to plumbing and HVAC trades. The selection committee seeks well-rounded candidates who are in good academic standing and show potential for success in their chosen field. This scholarship not only provides financial assistance but also strengthens connections between the industry and future professionals by encouraging students with industry ties to continue their education.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be the spouse, child, or grandchild of a TN PHCC member contractor in good standing for at least one year, or the spouse, child, or grandchild of a deceased member who met the membership requirement.
  • Alternatively, must be the spouse, child, or grandchild of an employee who has been employed at least one year by a contractor who is a TN PHCC member.
  • Must be a high school graduate or candidate for graduation within six months, or currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school.
  • Must have maintained a scholastic average of C or better for the two years preceding the application.

Application Requirements:

  • Completed TN PHCC scholarship application form (downloadable from the TN PHCC website).
  • Proof of student status (acceptance letter or current enrollment verification).
  • Documentation of family relationship to a qualifying TN PHCC member or employee.
  • Official academic transcripts demonstrating required scholastic average.
