Note that scholarships funded through the Golden Offering are awarded only to students attending undergraduate colleges in Tennessee or pursuing graduate studies at Southern Baptist Seminaries.

Eligibility criteria generally include:

  • Mission Participation: Evidence of current involvement in missions, with preference given to participation in WMU missions discipleship groups, Baptist Collegiate Ministries, or Tennessee Baptist missions/ministries.
  • Church Membership: Active membership in a Tennessee Baptist Convention-affiliated church.
  • Academic Achievement: Maintenance of a minimum GPA, typically 2.6 on a 4.0 scale; higher GPAs may be required for specific scholarships (e.g., 3.0 for Myrtice Owens and James & Martha Waller Scholarships; 3.5 for Myrtle Creasman Scholarship).
  • Enrollment Status: Full-time attendance at a Tennessee school, defined as taking the equivalent of 12 credit hours per semester.
  • Financial Need: Demonstrated financial need.
