ThanksUSA Scholarship Program

Name: The ThanksUSA Scholarship Program

Award Amount: $3,000

Information and Eligibility:
The ThanksUSA Scholarship Program is a nationwide scholarship initiative dedicated to supporting the families of U.S. military service members. ThanksUSA is a non-partisan, charitable organization that provides need-based scholarship assistance for the spouses and dependent children of active-duty, retired, or fallen United States military personnel. The scholarship gives military dependents an opportunity to pursue higher education at accredited colleges, universities, and vocational or technical schools.

The scholarship is designed to help remove financial barriers for military families and promote educational success for students who often experience unique family demands and transitions as a result of military service. Award recipients may receive up to $3,000 or the full amount of their program costs, whichever is lower. Funds may be applied to tuition, books, fees, and educational supplies. Students may also be eligible to apply for the scholarship in subsequent years, as long as ThanksUSA continues to offer the program and the applicant continues to meet eligibility requirements.

Eligible applicants include dependent children of U.S. military service personnel who are age twenty-four or younger, as well as military spouses. Students must be enrolled or planning to enroll as full-time undergraduate students in a college, university, community college, or vocational-technical school. Academic merit and financial need are considered, and applicants must meet GPA and enrollment requirements to qualify.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a current high school senior or undergraduate student enrolled full time in an accredited program

  • Must demonstrate financial need and meet all eligibility and enrollment requirements
