Award Amount: $4,000 – $6,000 per recipient

Information and Eligibility:
The AJLI Scholarship program supports U.S. students (Jewish or committed to strengthening U.S.-Israel Jewish ties) who will live and study in Israel for a full academic year at a designated Israeli university. The mission is to foster Jewish spiritual and cultural values through the experience of living and studying in Israel and to strengthen the ties between American and Israeli Jewish communities.
Eligibility criteria include:

• Citizenship: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
• Affiliation: Applicant must identify as Jewish or demonstrate strong commitment to strengthening Jewish-American/Israeli connections.
• Study Location: Applicant must have been accepted to study full-time at one of the approved Israeli institutions (such as Bar-Ilan University, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, University of Haifa, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, The Pardes Institute, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Tel Aviv University, or Weizmann Institute of Science).

Application Requirements:

• Completed application form through the AJLI website.
• Letter of acceptance from the Israeli institution confirming enrollment.
• Most recent academic transcript.
• Two letters of recommendation.

Selection Criteria:

• Merit of academic record and readiness for year‐long study in Israel.
• Commitment to Jewish community, Israel connection and the program’s mission of strengthening U.S.–Israel Jewish ties.
• Completeness and quality of application materials including recommendation letters and transcript.

Additional Details:

• The scholarship is awarded annually — typically 5 to 6 recipients are chosen each year.
• Award funds are disbursed directly to the Israeli institution for tuition; the scholarship does *not* cover non-tuition related costs.
