Name: The CollegeSTEPS Sweepstakes
Award Amount: $1,000
Information and Eligibility:
The CollegeSTEPS Sweepstakes is a national college savings opportunity sponsored by Wells Fargo that awards students the chance to win a $1,000 scholarship. This sweepstakes is designed to encourage students to begin planning for higher education early while gaining access to helpful financial literacy and college preparation resources. The program is open to high school students across the United States, including those in accredited homeschool programs, and aims to support both traditional and nontraditional learners as they prepare for the transition to higher education.
Participation in the sweepstakes does not require a purchase of any kind. Students simply enroll in the CollegeSTEPS Program, an email and resource program offered by Wells Fargo that provides helpful guidance on a variety of topics, including college admissions, financial aid, scholarships, college savings strategies, and money management tips. Once enrolled, students are automatically entered into the sweepstakes and have a chance to win the $1,000 award. The scholarship funds are deposited into an EdVest college savings plan which is managed by Wells Fargo Funds Management, LLC. Award recipients are not required to contribute additional funds to the savings plan to maintain eligibility or participation.
The program is designed to help students and families think critically about their long-term educational and financial planning while offering practical tools and resources that may assist in navigating the college-going process. The award may help students offset the cost of future educational expenses and encourage them to begin building a savings strategy for college early.
