Information and Eligibility:

The United Women in Faith National Scholarship supports laywomen in the United States pursuing careers in church or social service vocations, with a preference for those working on behalf of women, children, and youth. Eligible applicants include undergraduate or graduate students at designated National Mission Institution colleges, candidates for the Deaconess program, and laywomen active in United Women in Faith involved in lay ministry or social service work.

Eligibility criteria include:

• Educational Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at one of the following National Mission Institution colleges: Bennett College, Clark Atlanta University, Huston-Tillotson University, Paine College, Pfeiffer University, Spartanburg College, or Rust College.
• Deaconess Program Candidates: Scholarships are available for those pursuing classes and expenses related to the Deaconess program; Deaconesses may also apply for scholarships for degree programs.
• Laywomen in Ministry: Active laywomen in United Women in Faith pursuing careers in lay ministry or social service work are eligible.
• Denominational Affiliation: Preference is given to applicants affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
• Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
• Funding Duration: Scholarships are granted for one year; recipients may reapply in subsequent years.
