The Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (VASWCD) offers four $2,000 scholarships annually to Virginia residents who are high school seniors or college freshmen. These scholarships are intended for students pursuing degrees in natural resource conservation or environmental studies. The scholarships aim to support students who have a passion for preserving Virginia’s natural resources and promoting sustainable environmental practices.

The application process involves submitting a completed application form, which can be obtained from the local SWCD, along with a personal statement, academic transcripts, and letters of recommendation from teachers or community leaders who can speak to the applicant’s involvement in conservation activities.
