Information And Eligibility:
The Minority Undergraduate Retention Grant is designed to support minority students in Wisconsin who are pursuing higher education. This program assists minority undergraduate students, excluding first-year students, who are enrolled at least half-time in eligible institutions. The grant aims to reduce financial barriers and promote retention among underrepresented students in higher education. Eligible students may receive awards for up to eight semesters or twelve quarters.

Eligible minority groups include African American, American Indian, Hispanic, or Southeast Asian (specifically those who immigrated to the U.S. after December 31, 1975, from Laos, Cambodia, or Vietnam).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a legal resident of Wisconsin.
  • Must belong to one of the following minority groups: African American, American Indian, Hispanic, or Southeast Asian (Laos, Cambodia, or Vietnam).
  • Must be enrolled at least half-time as an undergraduate student in an eligible Wisconsin institution.
  • Excludes first-year students (sophomore, junior, and senior years eligible).
  • Demonstrated financial need, as determined by the FAFSA or other financial documentation.
  • Eligibility is limited to eight semesters or twelve quarters of funding.
