Wisconsin Talent Incentive Program Grant

Name: Talent Incentive Program Grant

Award Amount: $600 to $1,800 for initial awards, $250 minimum for continuing awards

Information and Eligibility:
The Talent Incentive Program Grant provides financial support to Wisconsin residents who demonstrate significant financial need and educational disadvantage. This grant is designed to help students who face economic or academic barriers gain access to higher education and stay enrolled through the completion of their degree. The program recognizes that students with financial challenges often need additional resources to achieve academic success and offers funding each year that the student continues to qualify.

The grant is available to Wisconsin residents enrolled in eligible postsecondary institutions. Students are initially nominated by the financial aid office at their college or by counselors from the Wisconsin Educational Opportunity Program. To continue receiving funding, students must maintain financial need and meet renewal requirements. The program offers initial awards that range from six hundred dollars to one thousand eight hundred dollars, and continuing awards begin at two hundred fifty dollars. The maximum continuing award is determined each year by the Wisconsin Higher Educational Aids Board and may not exceed the upper funding limit established for the program.

Application Requirements:

  • Nomination by a college financial aid office or by a counselor from the Wisconsin Educational Opportunity Program
  • Demonstrated financial need based on state and school guidelines
  • Enrollment as a Wisconsin resident in an eligible postsecondary institution
  • Submission of required financial aid forms and documentation as determined by the school

Selection Criteria:

  • Evidence of financial need and educational disadvantage
  • Eligibility determination made by the Wisconsin Higher Educational Aids Board
  • Ongoing compliance with renewal requirements for continuation of funding

Additional Details:

  • Eligibility is limited to ten semesters of funding
  • Awards may be used for tuition, fees, or other education related expenses
  • Designed to support students from underserved backgrounds and low income households
  • Funding is disbursed annually depending on continued financial need
