Name: Woodruff Scholarship

Award Amount:

• Georgia Residents: $5,000 renewable annual stipend (can be combined with the Zell Miller or HOPE Scholarship).

Information and Eligibility:

The Woodruff Scholarship is awarded to students with outstanding academic achievements and leadership skills. This scholarship is offered to first-year students who are admitted to the Jere W. Morehead Honors College at UGA and demonstrate the potential for exceptional academic and leadership success.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Residency: Must be a Georgia resident.
• Academic Achievement: Must demonstrate exceptional academic performance, including a strong GPA and standardized test scores.
• Honors College: Must be admitted to the Jere W. Morehead Honors College.
• Enrollment: Must be admitted to the University of Georgia as a first-year student.

Selection Criteria:

• Outstanding academic record and leadership qualities.
• Evidence of intellectual curiosity and engagement in extracurricular activities.

Application Requirements:

• Submit the First-Year application to the University of Georgia.
• Apply and gain admission to the Jere W. Morehead Honors College.
• Applicants are automatically considered for this scholarship based on their Honors College application.

Application Timeline:

• Application Opens: August
• Application Deadline: January (Admissions deadline)

Additional Information:

• The scholarship is renewable for up to four years, provided recipients maintain full-time enrollment and a 3.4 UGA GPA.
• No additional application is required for this scholarship beyond the Honors College application.
