Worthington Scholars receive support throughout their college careers, and award funds may be used toward tuition, fees, books, and other education-related costs.

Applications open annually on January 1 and close each year on April 15, with recipients often announced at high school award nights or graduation ceremonies. Worthington scholarships are renewable each semester for up to six years (the equivalent of up to 12 semesters) provided eligibility criteria are continually met.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a resident of Maine.
• Must be a graduating senior from one of the Worthington Foundation’s partner public high schools.
• Must plan to enroll full time in the fall following graduation at a participating Maine college or university.
• Must have a high school GPA of C- or higher for community college eligibility or B- or higher for four-year college eligibility.
• Must have a Student Aid Index (SAI) of 30,000 or less as determined by the FAFSA.
• Must be accepted and plan to attend one of the Worthington Scholarship Foundation’s partner colleges or community colleges.

• Completed Worthington Scholarship application via the online scholarship portal.
• Submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with an SAI of 30,000 or less.
• High school transcript verifying GPA and coursework.
• Proof of acceptance at a participating Maine college or university.
• Personal information and potentially supplemental essays or statements about goals and qualifications.
