Name: The Luis E. Torres Scholarship Award
Award Amount: $500 – $1,000
Information And Eligibility: The Luis E. Torres Scholarship Award recognizes students who are battling a medical obstacle, or students who have overcome a medical obstacle in order to achieve academic excellence in their pursuit of higher education. This scholarship opportunity is open to all qualified graduating High School Seniors, currently enrolled Undergraduate College Students, as well as currently enrolled Graduate Level Students.
To be eligible to receive a Luis E. Torres Scholarship Award, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements: The applicant must have a documented illness and/or disability. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551. The applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, and be currently enrolled full-time OR have plans to enroll full-time in a degree seeking program at a two or four year accredited institution in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam. All applicants must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and must be pursuing their first undergraduate or graduate degree.
