These achievement scholarships are awarded to African-American high school seniors selected by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation based on PSAT/NMSQT scores, Academic distinction, personal achievement and leadership abilities. State Farm National Merit Scholarships are awarded as a one-time, nonrenewable $2,500 scholarship. The award money may be used toward full-time study at an accredited U.S. college or university.
