Award Amount:

• Four scholarships of $2,500 each awarded for the spring semester.

The 3M Skilled Trades Scholarship supports students from underrepresented groups pursuing careers in skilled trades. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students enrolled in Minnesota State technical and community colleges and aims to increase diversity within the skilled trades workforce.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Identify as a member of an underrepresented group in skilled trades (e.g., race/ethnicity, gender identity, socioeconomic status, disability).
• Enrolled in a skilled trade program at a Minnesota State technical or community college.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Demonstrate financial need or other significant barriers to education.

Application Process:

• Complete and submit the online application by December 1 at 11:59 PM.
• Provide documentation of current academic status, including GPA.
• Write a 500-word essay explaining which underrepresented group(s) you identify with in the skilled trades and how this has influenced your educational and career goals.

Deadline:

• Applications open on October 20 and close on December 1 at 11:59 PM.
