Name: AGL Over the Rainbow Scholarship
Award Amount: $1,000
Information And Eligibility:
The AGL Over the Rainbow Scholarship was established in loving memory of Alex G. Luttrell and is designed to support high school seniors who are pursuing higher education in the fine and performing arts. This scholarship celebrates creativity, self-expression, and artistic dedication, while also recognizing students who use their talents to positively impact their communities. The award honors students who demonstrate both artistic promise and personal character, reflecting the spirit and legacy of Alex G. Luttrell.
This scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited college, university, or postsecondary institution and pursue studies in areas such as music, theater, visual arts, dance, choral performance, or other fine and performing arts disciplines. Applicants should show a clear passion for their chosen art form and a commitment to continued growth and education in the arts. While academic performance is considered, the primary focus of this scholarship is artistic ability, creativity, and dedication rather than GPA alone.
The AGL Over the Rainbow Scholarship places strong emphasis on artistic expression and real-world involvement. Applicants are encouraged to showcase their unique talents through performance or portfolio submissions and to highlight meaningful experiences such as school productions, community performances, exhibitions, competitions, or arts-based service. The selection committee looks for students who not only excel artistically but also demonstrate resilience, leadership, and a desire to contribute to the arts community.
Scholarship funds may be used to help cover tuition, fees, books, supplies, or other education-related expenses associated with pursuing an arts-focused degree. This award is especially valuable for students entering creative fields where traditional scholarships may be limited, and it serves as both financial support and recognition of artistic dedication.
