Award Amount: $20,000 per year for four years, totaling $80,000

Information And Eligibility:
The Boettcher Scholarship is a merit-based award designed to retain Colorado’s top high school seniors by providing them with substantial financial support to attend a Colorado college or university. The scholarship aims to cultivate the state’s future leaders by offering enrichment opportunities alongside financial assistance.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a graduating Colorado high school senior.
• Must have resided in Colorado for the full junior and senior years of high school.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, or meet the requirements for Colorado ASSET.
• Must apply during the fall of the final year of high school.

Selection Criteria:

• Superior scholastic ability and intellectual curiosity.
• Demonstrated leadership and involvement.
• Service to community and school.
• Outstanding character.

Application Timeline:

• September 1: Application opens.
• November 1: Application deadline at 5 p.m.
• Mid-December: Semi-finalists selected and notified via email; required to submit two letters of recommendation.
• February: Finalists notified and invited for interviews in March.
• March-April: 50 initial winners selected and announced publicly in early May.

The Boettcher Scholarship can be used at any of Colorado’s four-year, nonprofit institutions of higher education, including but not limited to:

• University of Colorado Boulder
• Colorado State University
• University of Denver
• Colorado College
• Colorado School of Mines
