Name: The Bridgestone Teens Drive Smart Video Scholarship
Award Amount: $25000
Information And Eligibility: To help promote safe driving to teens and young drivers, Bridgestone is giving away one $25,000 college scholarship (first place), one $15,000 college scholarship (second place), and one $10,000 college scholarship (third place). To enter the scholarship contest, Bridgestone is asking students to create and submit an original short video between 25 to 55 seconds in length on one (or more) of the following topics relating to auto safety: Seat belt usage, Tire inflation, Avoiding distractions while driving (talking on the phone and texting), and/or Driving defensively. This college scholarship opportunity is open to all legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia, who are between 16 and 21 years of age at the time of application. All applicants are required to have a valid U.S. driver’s license and must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited high school, post-secondary school, college, university, or trade school. Winning videos may air as public service announcements for Bridgestone, and the first place video will air on the MTV Jumbotron in Times Square in New York City. Video entries will be judged based on the following criteria: How effectively the video communicates the message, how motivational the video is to the intended audience, and creativity and originality of the video.
