Information and Eligibility:
The Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team, in partnership with the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA), honors 24 graduating high school seniors across Florida who excel both academically and athletically. This prestigious recognition celebrates student-athletes who demonstrate a strong balance between classroom achievement, varsity-level sports, and community engagement.

Each of the 24 recipients—12 girls and 12 boys—receives a $1,700 scholarship and a commemorative medallion. From this group, one male and one female student are selected as the **Ron Davis Scholar-Athlete of the Year**, earning an additional $4,600 each (for a total of $6,300) and receiving special recognition at an awards banquet.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Graduating Senior: Students must be seniors at FHSAA-member high schools in Florida.
  • Academic Performance: A minimum unweighted GPA of 3.5 is required.
  • Athletic Participation: Applicants must have earned varsity letters in at least two different FHSAA-sanctioned sports during both their junior and senior years.
  • Nomination Process: Each school may nominate two male and two female students (with at least one male and one female nominee of minority status) by submitting nomination forms signed by the principal and athletic director. Deadlines typically occur in early spring.
  • Selection Criteria: Nominees are evaluated on their academic achievements, athletic involvement, extracurricular and community service activities, and a personal essay.

Deadline: Nomination forms are distributed in early January and must be submitted to the FHSAA by late January each year (exact date varies; check with your school’s athletic office).
