GEICO Achievement Scholarship Program

Name: The GEICO Achievement Scholarship Program

Award Amount: $1,000

Information And Eligibility:
The GEICO Achievement Scholarship Program is a long-running corporate scholarship initiative created to support high-achieving undergraduate students who show strong academic performance, leadership potential, and a commitment to excellence in fields tied to GEICO’s core business needs. Every year, GEICO awards $1,000 scholarships to standout applicants enrolled at accredited four-year colleges and universities across the United States. The program seeks to recognize students who not only perform well academically but also demonstrate meaningful leadership and service in their campuses and communities.

To qualify, applicants must be full-time undergraduate students who are in their sophomore or junior year at the time of application. Because the scholarship is designed to help prepare future professionals in areas relevant to GEICO’s workforce, students must be majoring in business, computer science, mathematics, or other closely related fields such as finance, information systems, analytics, or actuarial science. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required, and applicants should be able to demonstrate involvement in leadership experiences, extracurricular activities, professional organizations, community service, or campus initiatives.

The scholarship focuses on applicants who show discipline, ambition, and the ability to balance academics with real-world responsibilities. Past winners often highlight internships, research experience, volunteer work, student government involvement, tutoring roles, or leadership in clubs and organizations. GEICO’s selection committee evaluates not only academic history but also how students apply themselves outside the classroom.

As part of the application process, students must submit an official or unofficial transcript, a signed scholarship application, and one letter of recommendation from a faculty or staff member who can speak to the student’s abilities, character, leadership, and academic performance. A key component of the application is a 600–1200 word essay responding to the prompt: *“What have I accomplished academically and in my work or extracurricular activities to deserve a GEICO Achievement Award?”* This essay allows applicants to showcase achievements, explain leadership roles, highlight meaningful experiences, and demonstrate strong written communication skills—an important factor in the review process.

The GEICO Achievement Scholarship is a merit-based award and does not require financial need. Award recipients may use funds toward tuition, books, fees, or other educational expenses. Students are encouraged to review GEICO’s program guidelines carefully and ensure all materials are submitted before the deadline.
