The Granville P. Meade Scholarship provides financial assistance to academically deserving Virginia high school seniors who demonstrate financial need and plan to attend a postsecondary institution in Virginia. The scholarship aims to support students in their pursuit of higher education by alleviating the financial burden associated with college expenses.

Eligibility criteria include:

• Current Enrollment: Applicants must be current seniors attending a public, private, or homeschool in Virginia. While applicants do not need to be U.S. citizens, they must plan to attend a postsecondary institution in Virginia, such as a university, community college, or technical school.
• Academic Achievement: Applicants should have a strong academic record, demonstrating the ability to succeed in postsecondary education.
• Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need, as the scholarship is intended to assist students who may not have the financial means to attend college without such support.

Each scholarship is valued at $2,000 per year, renewable for up to four years, provided the recipient continues to meet the scholarship requirements. This renewable structure encourages recipients to maintain their academic performance and continue their education without interruption.
