Award Amount:

• Full tuition for up to eight semesters at any University of Hawai‘i campus.

Information and Eligibility:

The Harriet Bouslog Labor Scholarship was established to provide college opportunities for children and grandchildren of ILWU Local 142 members. The scholarship aims to foster understanding and appreciation of the labor movement’s contributions to Hawai‘i’s community.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Relation: Must be a family member (child or grandchild) of an active or retired ILWU Local 142 member.
• Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in or have applied for admission to a campus within the University of Hawai‘i system on a full-time basis.
• Academic Standing: Must maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the University of Hawai‘i.

Application Requirements:

• Complete the Harriet Bouslog Labor Scholarship application form.
• Provide proof of relationship to an ILWU Local 142 member.
• Submit official high school transcripts or equivalent.
• Include a personal statement outlining educational and career goals.

Application Timeline:

• Application Deadline: April 1

Additional Information:

• A maximum of ten new scholarships are awarded to freshmen each year.
• Recipients are expected to attend an annual luncheon and participate in activities promoting labor education.
