Award Amount:

Overview:

The Irja Sundgren Pratt Memorial Scholarship was established through the estate of Irja Sundgren Pratt, valedictorian of Gilbert High School and a graduate of Eveleth Community College (now Minnesota North College-Mesabi Campus). Irja valued education and aimed to provide opportunities for young individuals from the Iron Range to pursue post-secondary education. This scholarship offers financial assistance to students attending one of Minnesota North College’s six campuses: Hibbing, Itasca, Mesabi-Eveleth, Mesabi-Virginia, Rainy River, and Vermilion.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Enrolled at any of the six campuses within Minnesota North College.
• Have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Will have completed at least one semester of coursework at the college before being eligible for the award.

Application Process:

• Complete and submit the online application by November 1 at 11:59 PM.
• Submit a letter of application/personal letter describing your:
  • Academic goals
  • Career goals
  • Personal goals
• Provide a separate statement of need explaining why you need this scholarship.
• Submit one letter of recommendation from college staff.
• Provide a copy of your unofficial transcript from your current institution.

Deadline:

• Applications open on July 1 and close on November 1 at 11:59 PM for the spring semester.
