The Isabelle M. Hickman Scholarship is a merit-based award that provides financial support to high school seniors from New Jersey who are planning to attend college. This scholarship honors the legacy of Isabelle M. Hickman, a dedicated educator who valued academic achievement, community service, and the overall development of students. The scholarship is designed to assist students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership abilities, and a commitment to giving back to their community.

Eligibility for the Isabelle M. Hickman Scholarship includes the following criteria:

• High School Graduation: The applicant must be a high school senior scheduled to graduate from a New Jersey public high school, including vocational-technical and charter schools.
• Academic Excellence: A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher is required. Applicants should have demonstrated academic success and a commitment to challenging coursework, including AP or honors classes where possible.
• Community and Extracurricular Involvement: The scholarship seeks applicants who are active in extracurricular activities, have volunteered in their community, or held leadership positions in school or community organizations.
• Letters of Recommendation: Applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation, one of which should come from a high school teacher who can attest to the applicant’s academic abilities and character.
• Essay: Applicants must submit an essay outlining their college and career goals, explaining how they intend to use their education to make a positive impact on society.

Renewal of the scholarship is contingent upon maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 in college and continued involvement in extracurricular activities and community service.

Deadline: All application materials must be submitted by February 28. Late applications will not be considered.
