Information And Eligibility: In memory of Joe Foss, who invested his life in the service of others and in the service of his country, the Joe Foss Institute proudly offers several nationwide scholarship opportunities to current high school students across America. Each Joe Foss Institute Scholarship opportunity is an essay based scholarship contest, that focuses on asking applicants to compose essays on the topics of American values, freedoms, and what it means to be an American. Each scholarship contest will offer a different topic and specific theme, as well as a different deadline requirement for submission. All Joe Foss Institute Scholarship Program contests are open to current high school freshman, high school sophomores, high school juniors, and high school seniors. All essays are judged and scored based on each contests individual requirements. The applicant(s) whose essay best meets the criteria established at the outset of the competition will win a scholarship. The number of scholarships available, as well as the scholarship award amounts will vary from one essay competition to the next.
