Award Amount:

  • Full-time students (12+ credits): $6,500
  • Part-time students (6-11 credits): $3,250

Overview:

This scholarship honors Mr. Warren H. Robens and Mr. Henry P. Dembiczak, who shared a commitment to their communities and a passion for higher education, particularly technical education. The scholarship provides financial support to students enrolled in courses of study within Minnesota State or any accredited post-secondary institution in Minnesota.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Graduated from a Minnesota high school.
  • Preference given to:
    • Graduates of Greenbush Middle River School District (for the Henry P. Dembiczak Scholarship).
    • Residents of Ramsey or Roseau counties.
    • Students enrolled in a technical course of study.
  • Enrolled as either full-time (12+ credits) or part-time (6-11 credits) in a course of study within Minnesota State or any accredited post-secondary institution in Minnesota.
  • Maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Preference given to students demonstrating financial need.
  • Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) and graduate students are ineligible.

Application Process:

  • Complete and submit the online application by April 1 at 11:59 PM.
  • Submit a personal letter describing your:
    • Academic goals
    • Career goals
    • Personal goals
  • Provide a separate statement of need explaining why you need this scholarship.
  • Write three essays (300-750 words each) addressing:
    • What a college education means to you and how this scholarship will help you succeed.
    • How you see yourself making a positive impact in the future by receiving this scholarship.
    • How you are living out LeadMN’s four core values.
  • Submit one letter of recommendation from college staff.
  • Provide a copy of your unofficial college transcript.

Deadline:

  • Applications open on January 1 and close on April 1 at 11:59 PM for the fall semester.
