Information And Eligibility: Art programs are often the first to go when a school is faced with budget cuts, however studies show that art education not only plays an important role in developing a students creative thinking, but it also increases their academic performance in all areas of study. In an effort to spread the word about the importance of art education, the Make Art Save Art Scholarship contest is giving away a $1000 college scholarship, a laptop computer, and a $5,000 grant for the winners school arts program. Make Art Save Art Scholarship applicants are asked to submit their artwork, along with the online scholarship application. The artworks with the most Twitter and Facebook likes will be selected as finalists. The Make Art Save Art Scholarship finalists artwork will then be judged by a panel of celebrity artists who will select the scholarship winner. Any form of visual artwork including drawing, painting, printmaking, photography and graphic design is eligible for submission to the Make Art Save Art Scholarship.
