Information and Eligibility:

The McKeon Scholarship is designed to assist students who have demonstrated a passion for political advocacy and LGBTQ+ rights. It seeks students who have actively engaged in political campaigns, public policy work, or social justice initiatives aimed at advancing the rights and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students who show leadership potential in the political sphere or related fields.

Eligibility criteria include:

• Residency: Must reside in downstate Illinois, excluding Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties.
• Enrollment Status: Open to students attending or planning to attend an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Political Advocacy: Applicants must demonstrate significant involvement in political advocacy, public policy, or social justice efforts related to LGBTQ+ rights.
• Application Materials: The application requires an essay, letters of recommendation, and academic transcripts.
