Information And Eligibility: The Washington Media Scholars Foundation provides over $30,000 in college scholarships to twenty students each year. The scholarships are awarded to dedicated undergraduate students, who are pursuing a career related to the public policy advertising industry. This opportunity is open to full-time degree seeking, undergraduate Juniors and Seniors in good academic standing. Students must be majoring or minoring in a discipline that prepares them for a career in strategic public policy advertising research, management, planning, and/or buying. Some examples of qualifying majors are marketing, journalism, communications, business, and political science. All applicants must have a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in their major concentration to qualify. Qualifying applicants will be asked to complete the online application and explain their financial need for the scholarship and how the award will positively impact their academic career. A committee of selected judges will evaluate all qualified applicant’s based on their application, dedication to pursuing a career in the strategic media planning industry, extraordinary achievements in the field, and leadership skills. The applicants who best demonstrate these qualities will be selected for an award of up to $2,000.
