Information and Eligibility:
The NSHSS Activism and Advocacy Scholarship is awarded by the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) to honor students demonstrating outstanding leadership in social, political, or civil advocacy. This scholarship is available to NSHSS members graduating high school in 2025, 2026, 2027, or 2028.

Eligibility criteria include:

• Membership: Must be an NSHSS member.
• Graduation Year: Open to students graduating high school in 2025, 2026, 2027, or 2028.

Application Requirements

To apply for the NSHSS Activism and Advocacy Scholarship, applicants must submit the following materials:

• Essay Response: A 500-800 word essay addressing the prompt: “What cause are you most passionate about advocating for, and what drives your dedication to it? Share specific examples of your involvement. We want to hear about the actions you’ve taken to support and advance this cause.”
• Optional Media: Pictures, videos, or other media showcasing your leadership in action.
• Headshot: A color photograph suitable for website posting.
• Resume: An academic resume detailing relevant experiences and achievements.
• Transcript: A current academic transcript (official or unofficial).
• Recommendation Letter: A letter of recommendation from an educator endorsing your qualifications.

Applications open on May 1 and close on September 8 at 11:59 PM (EST).
