Radford University General Scholarship Application

Name: Radford University General Scholarship Application

Award Amount:

  • Scholarship award amounts vary depending on the specific scholarship. Awards may be based on academic performance, financial need, and donor-specific criteria.

Overview:
Radford University’s Foundation Scholarship Application Portal. This academic year, more than $3 million from over 500 donor-funded scholarships will assist Radford students in covering tuition, fees, room, board, books, and other education-related expenses. By completing a single application, applicants can be considered for multiple scholarships. Additionally, there are apply-to scholarships that may be viewed after submitting the general application.

To begin the application process, newly admitted students should activate their OneCampus account using their username and claim code, which can be found in the Highlander Portal. After activation, log in to the scholarship portal using OneCampus credentials. Please note that access to the application may take up to 24 hours after account creation. Returning students should apply each year, especially if they wish to have their scholarships renewed. If you have applied previously, a portion of your application will populate, but it’s important to update your application to share any important updates with the scholarship committees.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a full-time student at Radford University.
  • Many of Radford’s foundation scholarships are need-based and require students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For maximum scholarship consideration, complete the FAFSA as soon as possible. Some foundation scholarships require the FAFSA, but financial need is only a priority – not a requirement.
  • Some scholarships may have additional criteria, such as maintaining a minimum GPA or being a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Application Process:

  • Complete the general scholarship application by signing in with your OneCampus credentials. Ensure all sections are filled out accurately and completely.
  • After submitting the general application, you may be matched with multiple auto-match scholarships based on whether you meet their requirements. You will not be able to see which auto-match scholarships you have been matched with.
  • Some scholarships may require additional documentation, such as essays or letters of recommendation. These will be indicated in the scholarship portal, and you will need to submit them by the specified deadlines.
  • After submitting your application, you can view your application status on your dashboard. If your status is not listed as “submitted,” you have not fully completed your application. Review to locate any missing information and make sure you sign and date your application.

Deadline:

  • The priority deadline to apply is February 5. Returning students who would like to have their scholarships renewed need to apply by this date. Awarding will be ongoing until all available awards can be made.

Additional Information:

  • After submitting your general application, you may be matched with multiple auto-match scholarships based on whether you meet their requirements. You will not be able to see which auto-match scholarships you have been matched with.
  • Check your Radford University email or view the portal for additional scholarship opportunities that may be added. New scholarships, as well as scholarships that may need to be re-awarded, may be awarded anytime throughout the year.
  • If you are selected to receive a scholarship, you will receive an email notification from foundscholar@radford.edu to your Radford email account.
  • Radford University requires students to thank their donors or scholarship contacts. Once awarded, students will be required to go into the database, accept their scholarship(s), submit post-acceptance questions, and submit thank you letters.
