The Hertz Foundation Graduate Fellowship supports the nation’s most promising PhD students in the applied physical and biological sciences, mathematics, and engineering. This fellowship provides funding to cover tuition and a personal stipend, along with the flexibility to pursue research interests without the constraints often tied to traditional funding.
Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who intend to pursue a PhD in the applied sciences, mathematics, or engineering at a participating institution. Applicants are evaluated based on their academic achievements, creativity, and commitment to the advancement of knowledge.
This is a multi-year fellowship, renewable annually for up to five years, provided recipients maintain satisfactory academic progress and continue in a qualifying field of study.
To apply, students must submit an application form, personal statement, letters of recommendation, transcripts, and a resume. Applicants may also be required to participate in interviews as part of the selection process.
