Information and Eligibility:
The iWorks Scholarship is designed to support the children and spouses of U.S. military service members who show potential to excel in college studies, specifically in the STEM fields. The scholarship aims to assist students in furthering their academic education at an accredited community college or four-year college/university. This award will be applied toward the student’s ongoing higher-level education.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Military Affiliation: Applicant must be the child or spouse of an active-duty member of the U.S. Armed Forces or a U.S. military veteran.
  • Enrollment: Must be enrolled in an accredited community college or four-year college/university. Undergraduate students must be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year, or pursuing a Master’s degree.
  • Academic Standing: Applicants must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 and be in good standing with their institution.
  • STEM Major: Applicants must major in a STEM-related area of study. Qualifying STEM majors include:

Application Process
Submissions must include the following documents:

  • Completed Application: In addition to basic information, applicants must answer several short-answer questions.
  • Official Transcript: Applicants must submit an official transcript reflecting completed courses and grades, including the Fall semester. Transcripts should be submitted electronically through the school to edfoundation@afcea.org. If electronic submission is not possible, official documents can be sent to the AFCEA address provided.
  • Letter of Recommendation: At least one letter of recommendation from a professor in the applicant’s STEM field of study. The letter must be submitted in PDF form via email to edfoundation@afcea.org.
  • Essay: A brief essay (250 words or less) describing the applicant’s financial need.
