Information And Eligibility: The Citizens Bank TruFit Good Citizen Scholarship Contest is looking to recognize and award those students whose volunteer efforts have made a difference in their communities. The TruFit Good Citizen Scholarship Programs awards forty college scholarships totaling $50,000 each year to qualified applicants who are chosen. This scholarship opportunity is open to all high school seniors and current college students, who are 16 years of age or older at the time of application. Applicants must be legal U.S. residents, who are currently attending or have been accepted to a federally accredited four-year college, university or graduate program. Applicants must currently be active in community service, and must be willing to submit a 250 word (maximum) essay or a 60 second (or less) video that outlines how you provide volunteerism and leadership in your community. All qualified entries must include the number of hours that you commit to the organization, and the names of two references. A selected panel of judges will score the qualified applications according to the following criteria: Thirty three percent of score on the depiction of leadership and initiative. Thirty three percent of score on relevance to the theme, including type of service and amount of time spent doing service. Thirty three percent of score on the most compelling video or essay. The forty applicants with the highest scores will be chosen to win a scholarship.
