Name: Turfgrass & Golf Course Management Scholarship – North Central Turfgrass Association & North Dakota Golf Association

Award Amount: $1,000 per selected recipient

Information and Eligibility:
This scholarship supports North Dakota students pursuing educational paths in turfgrass science, golf course management, or related fields within the golf-course and turf industry. It is administered jointly by the North Central Turfgrass Association (NCTGA) and the North Dakota Golf Association (NDGA). Eligible applicants are those who plan to enroll full-time in a turf-management program, technical institute, or college majoring in turf/turfgrass science, golf-course operations or a compatible discipline.
Eligibility criteria include:

• Residency/State Area: Applicant must reside in North Dakota or attend a post-secondary institution in North Dakota.
• Field of Study: Must plan to study turfgrass science, golf-course management, or a related turf industry track.
• Academic Level: High-school senior entering college or technical school, or current undergraduate student within the relevant program.

Application Requirements:

• Completed scholarship application form provided by NCTGA/NDGA listing name, address, school, major, GPA and contact info.
• Résumé or statement of professional goals in the turf/golf-course industry.
• One letter of recommendation (from a professor, employer or industry mentor) addressing the applicant’s turf management interests and qualifications.

Selection Criteria:

• Academic performance and readiness for educational path in turf/turfgrass science or golf course management.
• Demonstrated interest in turf or golf-course industry (internship, work experience, coursework) and future career potential.
• Strength and clarity of application materials including résumé/essay and recommendation.

Additional Details:

• Applications must be received or post-marked by January 15. Notifications and award presentations occur at the NCTGA Annual Conference and Trade Show in late February.
• Funds are paid directly to the selected student’s institution for approved tuition, fees or educational expenses.
