Information and Eligibility:

The AHIMA Foundation offers annual scholarships to student members pursuing degrees in Health Information Management (HIM) or Health Informatics (HI). These scholarships are designed to support students at various academic levels, from associate’s through doctoral degrees, who are committed to advancing in the health information field.

Eligibility criteria include:

• Membership: Applicants must be current members of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
• Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled in a health information program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) in the United States.
• Academic Achievement: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) is required.
• Remaining Coursework: Applicants must have at least one full-time semester or credit equivalency remaining to complete their educational program after the scholarship award date (after August 15th).
• Previous Awards: Applicants must not have been awarded any AHIMA Foundation scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application.

Deadline: Application materials must be submitted by May 31. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
