Information and Eligibility:

The Albers-Alexander LGBTQ Law Scholarship supports LGBTQ individuals pursuing a law degree. The scholarship prioritizes applicants who:

  • Show leadership and advocacy on behalf of the LGBTQ community;
  • Face barriers to educational access, including economic, ethnic/racial, social, geographic, or political disenfranchisement (e.g., LGBTQ students of color, transgender students, LGBTQ immigrant students, first-generation college students, or those who have experienced homelessness, foster care, poverty, or geographic isolation);
  • Demonstrate significant financial need.

Eligible applicants are first, second, or third-year law students attending one of the following law schools:

  • Golden Gate University School of Law (San Francisco, CA)
  • University of California at Berkeley, School of Law (Berkeley, CA)
  • University of California at Davis, School of Law (Davis, CA)
  • The University of California College of the Law (formerly Hastings College of the Law, San Francisco, CA)
  • University of Wisconsin Law School (Madison, WI)

Deadline: Applications are typically accepted from August to October. Please check the Horizons Foundation website for exact dates.
