The Indiana Choice Scholarship Program, commonly known as the voucher program, provides eligible Indiana students with financial assistance to attend participating private schools. This program aims to expand educational opportunities and allow families to select schools that best meet their children’s needs.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Residency: Must be a resident of Indiana.
  • Age: Students must be between 5 and 22 years old as of October 1 of the school year for which they are applying.
  • Income: Household income must not exceed 400% of the amount required to qualify for the federal Free or Reduced-Price Lunch program (FRL). For example, for a household of four, the income cap is $230,880.

Application Requirements:

  • Identify and apply to a participating Indiana Choice Scholarship school that aligns with your child’s educational needs.
  • Work with the chosen school to submit the Choice Scholarship application and provide necessary documentation, including proof of residency and household income.

Application Timeline:

  • First Application Period: March 1 to September 1 (full-year awards).
  • Second Application Period: November 1 to January 15 (half-year awards).

Additional Information:

  • Families are responsible for any tuition and fees not covered by the scholarship. Some schools may offer additional financial aid or payment plans to assist with remaining costs.
