Award Amount: $5000 – $10000

Information And Eligibility: Since 2008 Lime Connect and Google have been helping disabled individuals pay for their college educations by providing scholarships and networking retreats for students with a strong interest in Computer Science and other closely related fields. Qualified United States applicants (students studying in the US) could win up to $10,000 towards their college expenses, and qualified Canadian applicants (students studying in Canada) could win up to $5,000 towards their college expenses, based on tuition costs. In addition, certain selected students will also be invited to attend the annual Google Scholars Retreat at the Googleplex in California.

To qualify, individuals must be undergraduate, graduate or PhD students who are currently enrolled at a college or university in the United States or Canada. Applicants must be pursuing a Computer Science degree, Computer Engineering degree, or a degree in a closely related technical field with a heavy computer science course load. Applicants must display a strong academic achievement, and must demonstrate a passion for computer science and technology. Qualifying individuals must have a visible or non-visible disability (defined as a long-term or recurring issue that impacts one or more major activities within their daily functions). Qualified students will be asked to complete a online application, and submit their current resume, unofficial transcripts, answer three essay questions, and provide two letters or recommendation. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on the strength of their academic background and demonstrated passion for computer science.
